Elephants are the largest land animals on the planet weighing between 5000-14,000 pounds. There are three species, the African bush element, the African forest elephant and the Asian elephant. They can be found in sub-Saharan Africa, south Asia and southeast Asia. Elephants are herbivorous and highly intelligent.
